The Town of Kas
Villa Senar is just 5km from the centre of Kas, picturesque seaside
harbour town nestled within
a beautiful bay surrounded by mountains. Kas manages a delicate
balance of traditional Turkey with international tourism. Many
of its original Greek style houses are still preserved. Charming
tea gardens, cafes and smart boutiques, as well as excellent
restaurants and bars are located along cobblestone streets.
Adventure in Kas

from Kas including day trips to surrounding villages, great scuba
diving, lazy boat days, paragliding, sea kayaking, white water

Friday Farmers Market
Every Friday there is a traditional
Turkish village market in the centre of Kas for low-priced fresh
fruit and vegetables as well as local handicrafts. Many residents
from the Greek island of Meis also come to the market for their
weekly groceries. The atmosphere is wonderful.
Beaches
The famous sandy beaches of Patara and Kaputas
are not very far and make great day trips. Patara is a stunning
18 km long sandy beach, with sand dunes to one end and historic
ruins to the other. It is also a a nestling ground for the endagered
loggerhead sea turtle is protected from development. Kaputas
Beach though a lot smaller is no less beautiful. It is located
at the bottom of a deep ravine some 20 km from
Kas. Don't miss it.
Historic Sites
There are many ancient historical sites
and ruins nearby, this is a region abundant in Lycian cities,
sarcophagi and amphitheaters galore. Be sure to visit Kekova
for the underwater city ruins, Demre for the wonderful rock tombs
and the Church of St Nicolas and if you want even more adventure
there is Arycanda, a stunning Lycian city nested in a mountain
side about an hours driving from Kas. |  |
