South
Eastern Turkey Photo Tour - September 2009
This is a tour with
a distinctly Middle Eastern flavour, capturing many
of the visual highlights, distinct architectural styles and
multi-cultural charisma of South Eastern Turkey. This is where
Mesopotamia begins, where the Euphrates and Tigris rivers snake
their way through scorched plains and desolate hills passing
ancient villages, Biblical sites and dipping in and out of mythological
realms. A far cry from the touristy resorts of Western Turkey,
the South East abounds in true off the beaten track adventure.

This is the third
time Bob will be leading one of our tours and we are delighted
to have him back. Bob
is a former president of the Royal Photographic Society and
has been leading photographic tours around the world for
decades. Bob's knack at getting photos
out of a given situation is legendary, his enthusiasm,
and natural ability to break the ice and interact with local
people coupled with his generous tuition ensures that the tour
is not only enjoyable and educational but also yields
results.

Rod started
taking photographs when he was 7 but didn't become a serious photographer
until he was 12! He has become one of the best known and most successful
exhibition photographers in the UK. He is the immediate past President
of the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain. Rod will also give
Lectures and Workshops en route.
Photography and Our Approach
One of the main
pleasures of traveling in Turkey is the warm hospitality
of its people. Consequently
our tours abound in opportunities for photographing local
people. We aim to interact with the local community
at every opportunity, and do not encourage fly-by telephoto
photography. Our tours are about meeting people and
hearing their stories. in this way we are able to enrich
our photographs with authentic context.
